The Kitchen Next Door calls itself a community pub, but it's more than that. Tastefully designed, it has a rustic meets modern European bistro feel. Food offerings include sandwiches, burgers, salads, and inexpensive plates, with some vegetarian and lots of organic options. Look for the rotating daily specials menu and a sandwich + soup lunch special. Of course, there are lots of local craft beers and craft wines on hand with daily 1/2 price deals 7 days a week (after 9pm M-Sa, after 6pm on Sundays).
We tried the slow roasted pork sandwich, which was flavorful thanks to the salsa verde. The side of the garlic smashers were even better. We also tried the lobster roll (Friday special) - it was decent, but pretty small. Other than the lobster roll, the portion sizes were modest, but price appropriate.
The Kitchen Next Door is right next door (of course) to their full-on restaurant, The Kitchen. But if you can't get a table there, want to save a little cash on some lighter fare - and of course the beer and wine, pop in at The Kitchen Next Door. There is another KND opening nearby in Denver, and I will definitely be visiting frequently.
