Free shuttle buses run continuously on the mall. The FREE MallRide operates every day starting at 5:00 am on weekdays, 5:30 am on Saturdays and 6:30 am on Sundays/holidays. Service continues throughout the day with the last complete round-trip every night at 1:06 am.
You can also catch a ride on a pedicab, or take a romantic ride on a horse-drawn carriage.
The mall was designed in 1982 by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, in association with OLIN urban planners. It was later extended to its current length in 2001 and 2002. I.M. Pei designed the Pyramid at the Louvre Museum in Paris, and the extension of the National Gallery in Washington, D.C.
