Gear Spotlight: Mammut Alyeska GTX Pro Realization Pants

Xploritall got a sneak peak at the latest and greatest snowsports gear unveiled at the SIA Snow Show in Denver. We will be posting Gear Spotlights on some of the best products we saw. Most won't be released until Fall 2014.
Mammut unveiled the Alyeska GTX Pro Realization Pants, which have an integrated climbing harness built in. Yes, you read that correctly. Mammut recently released their Realization Shorts and Pants with the same built in harness, and the GTX Pro version adds GORE-TEX® Pro material for use in alpine and backcountry terrain. The GTX Pro combines all of the features you expect from both a harness and a technical pant. The lightweight harness, using Mammut’s proprietary Split Webbing technology, is hidden inside the pants such that it is barely noticeable. The pant features: five pockets, stretch inserts, adjustable suspenders, pre-shaped knee, gusseted crotch, side ventilation, edge protection, ski boot attachment and adjustable leg width, as well as the waterproofing, breathability and durability that GORE-TEX® provides. These are made to allow freeriders and ski mountaineers to rapid rappel, without having an additional piece of gear to have to don or stash.
