Gear Spotlight: Tribe One PackNet
Posted on August 8, 2013 by

Xploritall attended the Outdoor Retailer Summer Show to check out outdoor, lifestyle, and travel products to be released in the upcoming Fall and Spring seasons. We'll be covering some of the more interesting things we saw at the show. Once we receive products to demo and get a chance to test them out, we'll be reviewing them as well.
In most cases, the simplest ideas are the most elegant. And ideas born out of necessity are usually the most valuable kind. Take the PackNet, an attachment cargo system that extends the carrying ability of a backpack. Sure, we would love to go ultralight. But that is not always an option. Realistically, there are times when you need to carry more stuff. The PackNet eliminates all of the problems associated with improvising ways to attach additional gear to the exterior of your pack. Simply stretch and attach the PackNet loops to any free hook points. Attaching by a loop prevents any end to end connections, usually the source of failures on a bungee cord. Let's say you don't have any hook points or cargo loops. Perhaps the most brilliant innovation with the PackNet is the PackTach mounting system. The PackTach clips allow you to safely and securely create your own hook points anywhere you want by simply by feeding a carabiner through the clip. The fabric is not harmed.
The PackNet is the idea of two brothers. They have also developed a system for smaller packs, the MiniNet. And due to popular demand, a system for attaching gear to vehicle racks, appropriately called the RackNet.
