Gear Spotlight: Grayl Water Filtration Cup

Xploritall attended the Outdoor Retailer Summer Show the past several days to check out outdoor, lifestyle, and travel products to be released in the upcoming Fall and Spring seasons. We'll be covering some of the more interesting things we saw at the show. Once we receive products to demo and get a chance to test them out, we'll be reviewing them as well.

The Grayl (pronounced "Grail") is a new take on personal water filtration. Using a metal cannister, the process is similar to a coffee press. The water to be filtered is put into the cannister, then an inner sleeve with the attached filter is pressed down, and the filtered water is transferred into the inner sleeve. No waiting, sucking, squeezing, or pumping. BPA free, the filter captures germs (protozoa, bacteria, and viruses), odor, flavor, industrial and pharmaceutical chemicals, and heavy metals, and is antimicrobial.

It's a tad on the heavy side, so it's designed more as a lifestyle accessory than an ultralight technical tool. It looks sleek, and comes in a variety of finishes and colors.
