Back in October we told you about Google Street View Trekker, the backpack camera picking up where the Google cars can't quite reach. Well, Google is now accepting applications to "borrow" a Trekker camera. If you represent a tourism board, non-profit, government agency, university or research group, like to venture into hard to reach places, and don't mind lugging an additional 30 or so pound backpack around with a protruding camera probiscus, Google wants to hear from you. I wonder if some nerdy AV guys will show up at your house to drop it off. Maybe Oompa Loompas. Yes, definitely Oompa Loompas.
