Gear Spotlight: Arrows Inflatable iRIG ONE SUP Windsurfing Rig

With the popularity of Stand Up Paddleboarding, or SUP, taking off the past several years, we are beginning to see some fun and innovative accessories and adaptations to the sport. Arrows Inflatable is coming out with the iRIG ONE, an inflatable rig that will turn a paddle board into a portable, entry-level windsurfing setup. The iRIG ONE just won product of the year in the Action category at the ISPO Award show in Munich, Germany.
Being inflatable, the iRIG ONE can pack down into a small bag that weighs as little as a 1.5 liter watter bottle. The manufacturer claims the iRIG ONE is 70% lighter than a traditional windsurfing rig. In the chart below, you can see how the weight of each of the 3 sizes the iRIG ONE compares to a traditional windsurfing rig. There are no hard components, which will prevent injuries as well as providing weight-saving advantages. The small size would be ideal for children, making the iRIG ONE a nice training rig.
