Earn Money While Cycling
Posted on April 8, 2015 by
Competitive Cyclist, a premiere online cycling retailer, has partnered with Strava, a cycling and running tracking and social app to offer you credits for riding your bike. Yes, you will get free stuff just for putting in time in your saddle!
Once you link your Competitivecyclist.com and Strava accounts, you will begin to earn $1 for every hour you spend riding. It actually works in 1/2 hour increments, so an hour and a half ride will earn you $1.50. The credits can be used to purchase stuff from Competitive Cyclist. The credit cap is $40 per month, and credits expire at the end of the following month after they were earned (example: credits from rides in April will expire on May 31st).
Other rules: only MOVING time counts (spending time in the coffee shop while your ride is still being recorded doesn't count - only when your wheels are spinning); manually entered rides do not count - your ride has to be recorded via a GPS device or the Strava mobile app.
No, this isn't going to make you enough money so you can finally quit your job and turn pro, but it will offset some of the costs of riding a lot and perhaps motivate you to get out there to ride on those days when you kinda don't feel like it (but know it would be good for you).

Before you rush off to get your accounts linked, make sure you join us on the Xploritall Strava group (it's free) to see how many miles - and now dollars! - we can achieve as a group.
Full Disclosure and Support Plea
Xploritall is totally free to use. To cover the costs of running the site, we have some affiliate partnerships with retailers, including Competitive Cyclist. That does not influence our blog post opinions. We try to write about and review things we use ourselves or would be interested in using, and take great pains to point out both the pros AND cons. However, if you choose to do business with stores and manufacturers we are affiliated with, please consider clicking the links to enter their websites in order to support Xploritall. That means once you are ready to spend some of those Competitive Cyclist credits you earned, please follow the Competitive Cyclist link from our Gear Store...
