Gear Spotlight: Mt Hood Pint Glass
Posted on February 3, 2015 by

What better way to enjoy a craft beer than having one in a handcrafted pint glass? North Drinkware, a trio of Portland transplants with over 30 years of product design, engineering, and marketing experience, created a beverage delivery device that celebrates an icon of the Oregonian landscape. Their custom designed pint glass features a 3D replica of Mt. Hood rising from the base. And not just a rough representation, but one created from accurate USGS data.
In partnership with local expert glassblowers, they have tweaked and refined their design until satisfied with the finished product. Using a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, they reached 100% funding in just over 5 hours. Two days after launch, they are already at $91,175 pledged - with only a $15,000 goal.
To go along with the Mt. Hood pint glass, North Drinkware also developed birch coasters with topography of Mt. Hood - again using USGS data.
Kickstarter backers can reserve their own glass(es) and coaster(s), or an opportunity to make their own set in the Portland shop. Pledges start at $35 if you want a pint glass of your own.
